Is AI Making Every Business Sound the Same? Here’s How to Make It Work for Your Brand

AI has made creating marketing content faster and easier and I LOVE IT, but it has also created a new problem: many businesses are beginning to look and sound exactly alike.

We’re seeing the same polished phrases everywhere “elevate your brand,” “unlock your potential,” and “solutions tailored to your needs.” While the wording sounds professional, it can feel generic when it doesn’t include the business owner’s real voice, personality, or experience.

This rings true with flyers and social media graphics, and you’ll often see the same trendy fonts used over and over again: an oversized bold headline paired with a delicate script font, usually placed inside a familiar template. The design may be attractive, but it doesn’t necessarily make the brand distinctive. Your design should complement your industry, audience, and overall brand.

AI and templates are useful starting points, but they shouldn’t replace originality. Before publishing your next graphic or piece of content, ask yourself:

  • Does this sound like something I would actually say?

  • Do these fonts reflect the personality of my business?

  • Could this wording or design easily belong to a competitor?

  • Would someone recognize this as my brand without seeing my logo?

Use AI to organize your ideas and templates to inspire your design but always add your own perspective, visual style, and personality. The goal isn’t simply to create content quickly. It’s to create something people will remember.
